Gunilla Allard
Gunilla Allard has won a number of prestigious design awards, including the Bruno Mathsson Prize and the Georg Jensen Prize for furniture design. She was born in 1957, and after completing her studies at Sweden’s University College of Arts, Crafts and Design and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, she began designing furniture that has gained attention both in Sweden and internationally.
Some of her best-known works are the Cinema easy chair, the Saturn table and the Chicago series. Allard was also involved in the production of Ingmar Bergman’s classic film Fanny and Alexander.
