The Spiral and the Square. Exercises in Translatability
What happens in translations between cultures, between languages, between a viewer and an artwork? In a large group exhibition this autumn, the works are varied exercises in translatability. The Spiral and the Square has its starting point in the exciting Brazilian art scene, but an exhibition that is about the meeting of cultures will inevitably embrace the whole world.

I Spetsen: Ulla von Brandenburg och Malin Pettersson Öberg
For the autumn’s five-year celebration, we invite artists to create works especially for our most challenging exhibition space, the Spetsen gallery. First out this autumn is Chorspiel and Stereoscopic Exercise; a first collaboration between Ulla von Brandenburg and Malin Pettersson Öberg, whose room of fabrics encases Ulla von Brandenburg’s film Chorspiel, a family drama in a musical format.

The season ends in the traditional manner, with our regular exhibition of works by recipients of grants from the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation. Those represented are two or three young Swedish artists at the beginning of a promising career.
